a man's position
a golden's stance
a rival
Crouching near the master,
Brit stands fearful, clinging close;
resting on its haunches,
without feelings of morose.
Brit sprints briskly rightward,
seeking safety from a device;
steering clear, from a ping,
Brit shuns sounds that don't entice.
A Pet stands beside a loud machine.
Shaking, Brit comes near for love,
wanting strokes and scratches,
never fearful of a shove.
When the noisy gadget stops,
Brit reclines and relaxes;
closing eyes in slumber,
Brit ignores man's work on taxes.
